Backbone

This Building was created as an all-age/disability accessible venue. It is located in Storm King Art Center right adjacent to the Pyramidion sculpture.

The reason why I chose the Pyramidion sculpture was that it gave me a sense of strength and balance. This led me to name my project Backbone because this venue will be used for occasions and ceremonies that are milestones. Backbone has two floors. The bottom floor being open so people can design the event the way they want. Also, it has cutouts in the wall for air circulation.

I showed lighting throughout the day in the photos below to show how in the morning to noon it has the most shade to cool down the space during hot climates. I then added fewer shadows at night to get as much warmth as possible before the sun drops.
